One of the fine fabrics that have always been a part of Agnona’s history is undoubtedly alpaca, which comes from a mammal native to the Peruvian Andes accustomed to rapid changes in temperatures ranging from 30 degrees centigrade during the day to minus 15 – 20 degrees centigrade at night. Precisely due to these characteristics, soft alpaca hair is perfect for making refined fabrics that are extremely light yet protect against the cold even more effectively than fur.
The refined fabric called “Spazzolino” is made from a superb quality of “Suri” alpaca (the most valuable type that exists). Its fibers naturally come in more than 17 shades, from black to a range of neutrals spanning from gray to white.
Agnona, the “Queen of Alpaca”, is the company that, more than any other, has helped introduce this fiber to the world by creating several unique versions, including the “spazzolino” (brushed alpaca), which was an iconic fabric of the 70s.
