The fabric in pure Vicuña of Perù, in this twill version, weighing 280 grams per linear meter, with the natural colour of the Vicuña fibers, has a soft and warm hand and is suitable for the creation of jackets, suit and dresses reserved for true connoisseurs and lovers of luxury.
The Vicuña is the smallest of the camelids. It lives in the Andes, and is a much-loved treasure in Perù (it is the national symbol), which was responsible for rescuing it from the dark days when hunting led to it being threatened with extinction.
The very fine fibres of the fleece of the Vicuña is very warm and soft, and make it so precious that the Incas considered it a gift of the gods. Its select nature is also due its rarity: Lanificio Ermenegildo Zegna e Lanerie Agnona are two of the only three companies in the world that can use Vicuña Perù.
The Group Ermenegildo Zegna S.P.A, certifies that the fabrics, clothing and accessories labelled:
VICUÑA PERÙ
are made from raw materials that are 100% Vicuña granted to Agnona in a selection process conducted by the Sociedad Nacional De Criadores De Vicuña of Perù, under the supervision of the Peruvian Government and C.I.TE.S.. The contract was signed in Lima, in the Golden Room of the Government Palace, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Perù in July 1994.
The Lanificio Ermenegildo Zegna presents a proposal of milled and clear finished fabrics for suiting. Suits, both elegant and informal, express the personallty and nature or those who wear them.
